				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>CHARLESTON, SC – Former Clemson standout quarterback Tajh Boyd and former University of South Carolina two-sport athlete Bruce Ellington will be the featured guests at the Medal of Honor Bowl Game’s pregame tailgate FanFest on Saturday, January 10 at Johnson Hagood Stadium beginning at 11 am.  Kickoff is set for 2:30 pm.</p>
<p>The Medal of Honor Bowl, which will be televised live nationally by the NBC Sports Network, is a premier all-star game the features the nation’s top draft-eligible college football players as projected for the NFL Draft. The game honors the Medal of Honor recipients and the game’s beneficiaries, the Medal of Honor Museum Foundation, disabled veterans and wounded warriors.</p>
<p>Boyd and Ellington will be available for a meet-and-greet beginning at 11 am at the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame tent that is located in the southwest parking lot to the right of the stadium. The Tailgate FanFest will have live music by The Brady Smith Band, special appearances by the Atlanta Falcons cheerleaders, a rock-climbing wall and the Monster Mobile Game Theater, among other activities for fans of all ages.</p>
<p>Fans will also have the chance to enjoy great food from Sticky Fingers and Bubba Burger.  Fans will also have the opportunity to enter to win the Medal of Honor Bowl’s all-inclusive Super Bowl Package, and to secure officially licensed Medal of Honor Bowl merchandise that includes MOH Bowl apparel, hats and more.</p>
<p>There is no admission charge to the Tailgate FanFest.</p>
<p>After starring at Clemson, Boyd was selected with the 213th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the New York Jets.  He is now the starting quarterback the Boston Brawlers of the Fall Experimental Football League.</p>
<p>A Lowcountry native, Ellington played only basketball for the Gamecocks in 2010, but joined the football team in 2011 and played both sports throughout his college career. As a football player, he had 106 career receptions for 1,586 yards and 16 touchdowns.  He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft and is a current member of the team.</p>
<p>University of South Carolina legend and NFL standout George Rogers appeared at last year’s inaugural game.</p>
<p>The Tailgate FanFest is sponsored by Bud Light, Sticky Fingers Restaurant, the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame, Bubba Burger and WEZL 103.5.</p>
<p>Game tickets, which range from $15-$40, may be secured at the Medal of Honor Bowl Game’s dedicated website www.MOHbowl.com. They will also be available at The Citadel Athletic Ticket Office at 843/953-DOGS (3647).  One lucky ticket holder will drive home with a new Mercedes-Benz, thanks to Baker Motors and Mercedes-Benz.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>CHARLESTON, S.C. &#8211; University of South Carolina legend and NFL standout George Rogers will appear with his Heisman Trophy at the Tailgate Throwdown prior to the Medal of Honor Bowl on Saturday at Johnson Hagood Stadium.</p>
<p>Rogers will be available for photos and autographs beginning at 11 am at the tailgate tent located in the southwest parking lot to the right of the stadium. The tailgate will also feature children&#8217;s games and a buffet lunch sponsored by the top restaurants and caterers in Charleston.</p>
<p>The Medal of Honor Bowl kicks off at 2 pm.  Tickets are available by going to etix.com.</p>
<p>Rogers starred at South Carolina from 1977-80 and is still the all-time leading rusher in school history with 5,024 yards while ranking second with 31 touchdowns.  He was a consensus All-American and Heisman Trophy winner following a senior season in which he rushed for 1,781 yards.</p>
<p>The Duluth, Ga., native was a second team All-American his junior year when he rushed for 1,681 yards.</p>
<p>His number 38 was retired at the final home game of his career, the only Gamecock to have his jersey retired while still an active player.  he was named to the South Carolina&#8217;s All-Century team in 1992 and was inducted into the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame in 1997.</p>
<p>Rogers was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the first overall pick in the 1981 NFL Draft and proceeded to set a then-rookie record with 1,674 yards.  he was named the NFL Rookie of the Year and earned a trip to the Pro Bowl.</p>
<p>After four seasons in New Orleans, Rogers moved on to Washington and earned his second Pro Bowl invitation while helping the Redskins win the Super Bowl following the 1987 campaign.  He finished his NFL career with 7,176 rushing yards and 54 touchdowns.</p>
